Design & Development Associates have obtained Householder Planning Approval for a beautiful property remodel and new side extension to a detached property in Broadstone.
Our clients wanted to transform their existing three-bedroom property into a stylish and contemporary four-bedroom family home. The brief focused on creating a more elegant exterior while reconfiguring the internal layout to maximise space, functionality, and natural light.
To achieve this, we designed a bespoke single-storey side extension that significantly increased the property’s floor area, creating a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space ideal for modern family living. With the home benefiting from a large, private rear garden, the design also incorporates extensive glazing to frame beautiful garden views and seamlessly connect the interior with the outdoor space.
The project required Householder Planning Permission, and our team managed the entire planning application process on behalf of the client. We began by carrying out a comprehensive measured building survey to establish an accurate foundation for the design. Working closely with our clients throughout the design development process, we refined the proposals until they perfectly matched their vision before preparing and submitting the planning application.
As with all our projects, we managed the application from submission through to determination, liaising with the local planning authority to ensure a smooth process. We are delighted that planning permission was granted ahead of schedule by the local planning authority in Dorset, allowing our clients to move forward with confidence and begin the next stage of their home extension project. The clients is aiming to start work over the summer of 2026.
