Our client wanted to modernise their bungalow and extend into the roof to create additional habitable accommodation. To achieve this, Design and Development Associates proposed raising the eaves level of the bungalow and in-filling the front and rear of the property to create 4 double bedrooms at first floor level and a bathroom. At ground floor level the in-fill extensions allowed for a large kitchen diner with a separate lounge area with views over the rear garden.
As part of the re-development, we undertook design changes to the facade of the property to give the property a modern uplift and maximising natural light into the property. We also re-located the front door to allow for more efficient circulation to the property and maximum room space.
The proposal required a householder planning application and we, therefore, undertook a measured site survey of the property and produced detailed existing floor plans and elevations to show the council their current arrangement.
Once the existing was complete our architectural designers undertook a design proposal which was presented and approved by our client. This was then submitted to East Dorset District Council and subsequently approved under delegated powers.
