Approved: New first floor added to a Bungalow in Poole

Design & Development Associates have secured consent for a bungalow to be converted into a house in the popular Pound Lane in Poole.

The client initially wanted to have a loft conversion to add two further bedrooms and a living area to their property in Oakdale. Upon undertaking an assessment however, it become apparent that the bungalow could be turned into a house due to its position within the street scene.

By converting into a house, the client benefited from doubling the floor area of the property, and had no restricted head height like conventional loft conversions.

Plans were prepared for this conversion and submitted as a householder planning application to the Borough of Poole. In the Planning Officers report she stated ‘the development would respect the character of other properties in Pound Lane by virtue of its design, scale and proposed materials…it would integrate well into the street scene.’ For this reason the scheme was approved within the 8 week target decision time.

The proposal is now being constructed by Ozone Developments and works are due to be completed by the end of the summer.
