Design & Development Associates have secured planning permission for a rear contemporary re-model in Wimborne.
Our client wanted to remodel and enlarge their existing property to allow for new contemporary living space to a traditionally styled property. To achieve this, Design and Development Associates proposed a new single storey rear extension to accommodate an enlarged living room with patio doors in addition to a contemporary vaulted kitchen/ diner with bi-fold doors. The addition of vaulted glazing above the bi-fold doors will encourage as much natural light as possible. Design & Development Associates proposed to replace the existing rear hip roof with a new gable wall to accommodate for a loft conversion at first floor level adding two bedrooms and a bathroom with dormer windows to the front and side of the property. The downstairs bathroom was relocated next to the existing utility room, connecting into the existing drainage with a replacement pitched roof with a flat top above. Our plans were submitted with 1.8m high screens on either side of the raised patio to reduce the potential overlooking of neighbouring gardens.
The property is located within a green belt designated zone, which means the council requested the proposal be dealt with as a householder planning application.
We undertook a measured site survey of the property and produced detailed existing floor plans and elevations to show the council their current arrangement. Our design proposal was submitted to the Bournemouth Borough Council and the application was subsequently approved within 8 weeks of submission.
