Approved: Rear Extension in Bournemouth

Design & Development Associates have secured a Certificate of Lawful Development for a single storey extension in Jameson Road, Bournemouth.

The client, who was looking to extend their home to create a large kitchen living dining room, approached us for some planning advice. Our initial site assessment revealed that the proposal would fall under permitted development and therefore we recommended a certificate of lawful development. This certificate is issued by the council and is legally binding stating that the works are permitted development and no enforcement action will be taken. Design & Development Associates always recommends obtaining this certificate before works commence for additional security (Costing £86 Local Authority fee).

We undertook a measured survey of the property and produced existing and proposed floor plans & elevations to demonstrate to the council that the proposal would fall under permitted development. These plans were submitted and 8 weeks later we had received the certificate of lawful development. The works are now ongoing on site.
