The client wanted to undertake a rear extension to increase the habitable footprint for a large kitchen living dining area to the rear of their property. The bedroom, currently located to the rear, would be re-located within the property to ensure the level of occupancy has not changed.
The rear extension has been designed as a flat roof with large bi-fold doors overlooking the garden. The flat roof benefits from a vaulted glass sky lantern in order to maximise natural light and provide a focal feature for this new room.
The plans were prepared as a Householder Planning Application and submitted to the local authority as a planning application. The council reviewed the proposal and approved the submission within 8 weeks and the clients have now completed the work over the summer.
