Our client was seeking to extend their kitchen and create a utility area, as well as adding an additional habitable room for an office with a shower room.
Creating an additional room for an office is certainly in high demand at present, and this side extension is one solution to create that much needed space.
By extending to the side, we were able to increase the width of the existing kitchen, and add a gallery style utility for the noisy white goods. Off this utility was access into a new office with a shower room, and the office benefitted from a vaulted ceiling with Velux windows, and a window overlooking the drive.
Providing there are no previous extensions to consider, side extensions often fall under Permitted Development as long as they are no more than half the width of the original house. There are also height tolerances depending on distances to boundaries to consider, so best consult your designer before instructing the builders!

This Certificate is legally binding and provides peace of mind before construction starts. To achieve this certificate we firstly undertook a detailed measured survey of the property to produce existing floor plans and elevations.
